Welcome to I.T. & Computing

One of the most important aspects of working in Digital Industries is continual professional development and maintaining evolving skills.  As such, for those of you that will be joining us at Highlands, you will need to continually practice your technical and digital skills.

Practical assessments such as coding an app, or building a network or cloud solution are commonplace on the course to develop the necessary skills required to succeed in industry and at higher levels of study. These assessments are then supplemented with written reports and examinations develop theoretical knowledge of the subject.

The final qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels, giving you the skills to either move on to University or go straight into employment.

BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are valued by employers and lead to career opportunities in Business, such as IT Administration and Support and other IT-related careers (usually in a Trainee position with opportunities for progression).

You will complete assignments that will develop the skills and knowledge that lead to IT-related careers or higher education.

Study includes both core units and optional units.
